Changing HOA governing documents vs. rules

Changing HOA governing documents vs. rules

Pine Summit homeowners: Some have been asking to change what they think are “rules,” when in fact the developer felt so strongly about the rule that they have put them in the “governing documents.” These are different than rules, more like the constitution for the association, and are very difficult to amend. Any homeowner that would like changes is welcome to share their ideas, as well as volunteer time to request and collect the responses from our community. The board consists of volunteers from the neighborhood and would be happy to participate in the community vote on the proposals set forth (as a homeowner). See the attached link for a sample from MN law updates in 2020 and read further information if you’d like to take on the task. The “Governing Documents” tab located on the homepage includes our Articles, Bylaws, Declaration, Rules, and Maintenance Plan (all separate requirements) for further review.
